The Knight took out a tracking device from his pocket and circled the area. His gaze finally settled on the side pillar of the torii gate, where a palm-sized, pixel-style signal transmitter was quietly attached, its indicator flickering faintly.

The Knight removed the signal transmitter, his brow filled with confusion.

"What is it?" Wu Xiangnan walked over to his side. Seeing the device in his palm, he asked, "Is this Paratrooper's signal transmitter?"

"That's right..."

The Knight hesitated before speaking. "But since the signal transmitter had already been set up, Paratrooper should have been waiting here to rendezvous with us..."

"But there's no one nearby." Wu Xiangnan continued. He crouched down and carefully examined the bluestone slabs beneath his feet. "And there are no signs of fighting or pursuit... Did he leave on his own?"
