Planned Hierarchy
Lu Changsheng proposed formally unifying the three branches into one structure, with the Sacred Land Heavenly Sect overseeing the Ancient Domain Heavenly Sect, which would in turn stand above the Northern Territory Heavenly Sect. The proposal was intended to create an advancement path from the resource-poor Northern Territory to the Holy Land. 221
- Sacred Land Heavenly Sect — proposed highest branch and final destination for outstanding talent.
- Ancient Domain Heavenly Sect — intermediate branch and connection to the Holy Land.
- Northern Territory Heavenly Sect — proposed talent pool; its environment has lost its spiritual energy, making Divine Firmament roughly the practical limit. 221
History
The Northern Territory Heavenly Sect stood aloof from conflicts between dynasties and nations. Its disciples were difficult to become, and possession of its identity token inspired caution even among Martial Arts Exhibition Tower personnel. 130
Lu Changsheng entered the Northern Territory Heavenly Sect by climbing the Ascending Heaven Stairway and became an Outer Sect Seed Disciple. This status granted him a Superior Divine Gang martial art, double cultivation resources and Contribution Point rewards, but required him to accept at least one challenge each month after his protection period. 132
The Northern Territory branch maintained a fiercely competitive but openly strength-based system. Outer Sect disciples who could not advance to Divine Gang and enter the Inner Sect within ten years were expelled, while the sect's Qi and Blood Pool allowed disciples to condense Divine Firmament without the usual extended recovery period. 133 142
After arriving in the Ancient Domain, Lu learned that the Ancient Domain Heavenly Sect had gradually become independent in practice. Its disciples were born and raised in the Ancient Domain, and many had never visited the Northern Territory; the two branches retained shared origins but lacked a formal hierarchy. 153
Following Lu's rise to the Divine Ability Realm, he founded the Sacred Land Heavenly Sect in the Holy Land. The new sect provided the lineage with a foothold in a cultivation environment far stronger than either the Ancient Domain or Northern Territory. 219 221
Recruitment and Disciple System
Ascending Heaven Stairway
The Northern Territory Heavenly Sect uses the Ascending Heaven Stairway as a major route of entry. Only a handful of candidates typically pass during each ten-year recruitment cycle. 132
- Successful climbers become Outer Sect Seed Disciples. 132
- Recommendation tokens may be used for entry processing after passing the stairway. 132
- Seed Disciples may select one Superior Divine Gang martial art from the Merit Transfer Hall. 132
- Seed Disciples receive doubled cultivation resources and doubled rewards for sect missions. 132
- Defeat in a formal challenge results in loss of Seed Disciple status. 132
Outer and Inner Sects
- Outer Sect Disciples are below the Divine Gang Realm; most are Divine Strength martial artists, though exceptionally gifted Body Tempering martial artists may also enter. 132
- Inner Sect Disciples have entered the Divine Gang Realm and pursue Spiritual Power growth, Brain Domain opening, and eventual Divine Treasury advancement. 143 145
- True Inheritance Disciples are Divine Treasury Realm martial artists; some sect missions are reserved specifically for them. 146
Resources and Infrastructure
- Qi and Blood Pool — A Northern Territory Heavenly Sect resource that supplies easily absorbed essence, allowing Divine Firmament condensation without exhausting the body. 142
- Merit Transfer Hall — Provides cultivation methods, including Superior Divine Gang martial arts for Seed Disciples. 132
- Mission Hall — Issues missions with realm requirements and Contribution Point rewards; the restrictions are intended to protect disciples from missions beyond their strength. 146
- Spirit Stone Mine — The Sacred Land Heavenly Sect's foundational resource, seized from Myriad Sword Manor; it produces 50,000 Spirit Stones each month. 219
- Mountain Gate — The Sacred Land Heavenly Sect established its Mountain Gate fifty li from Heavenly Saint City. 219
Influence and Authority
Northern Territory Heavenly Sect Seed Disciples on official missions possess exceptional authority within the Northern Territory. No person or force may obstruct them; offenders may be killed without mercy. A Seed Disciple may also mobilize the governmental forces of local dynasties when this is relevant to a sect mission. 146
The sect's culture emphasizes direct competition rather than covert schemes. Strength determines status, and disciples are expected to contend openly for resources and advancement. 133
