The dazzling curtain of light descending from the dome flickered and shattered. The flashing Persian Divine Markings gradually dimmed, weakened, and finally broke down into pure aether that drifted away.

The once-majestic inner and outer city walls had collapsed, leaving a breach hundreds of meters long. The city's soft underbelly lay wide open, completely exposed to the wilderness.

Within the city, billowing smoke rose into the heavens. As far as the Persians could see, there was nothing but an apocalyptic scene.

On the ground, the small mixed force of Immortals and Imperial Guards that had barely been assembled collapsed at the first impact of the Amazon Divine Blood Warriors' charge, utterly unable to fight back.

The elite Roman Legions followed close behind, seizing control of the central thoroughfares and suppressing the remnants. Forming units of centuries, they fanned out in every direction and swept through Susa's streets and alleys with devastating force, taking over the entire royal capital.

In the air, the mage corps pouring out from the Astrology Platform had barely risen aboard their Flying Carpets before they were bombarded by hundreds of ritual spells. Countless charred limbs, severed bodies, and ash from incinerated corpses drifted down from the sky.

With delighted, curious smiles on their faces, they chirped merrily as they waved their wands and casually unleashed devastating spells. Like dragonflies catching flies, they shot down spellcasters trying to scatter, break through the encirclement, and seek aid from nearby cities.

The sky was painted in dazzling colors, and the surging Aether Torrent washed away the Djinn the mages had been so proud of.
