Background
Lu Qingshan grew up with his elder brother Lu Qingfeng and younger sister Lu Qingyu in an isolated blackwood house on the edge of Blackwood Village. At roughly thirteen or fourteen, he was chosen by the Returning Truth Sect as a servant disciple and sent to Yellow Ganoderma Mountain against his wishes. Frightened of the sect, he nevertheless accepted Lu Qingfeng's instruction to endure, cultivate, and keep their father's revenge hidden until he had the strength to act 1.
Life in the servant courtyard was brutal. Qingshan returned from visits increasingly thin, limping, and covered in whip marks inflicted by Servant Manager Zhang Chong and others. He secretly taught Lu Qingfeng the Returning Truth Technique and Wild Bull Fist, and kept a written record of every beating, kick, and deprivation he suffered 1 14. When Inner Disciple Wu Yuan selected him for a dangerous herb-gathering expedition across the Chengyang River, Lu Qingfeng and Qingyu intervened; after Wu Yuan gravely injured Qingshan, the siblings escaped the Returning Truth Sect together 11 12 13.
After escaping, Qingshan trained under Lu Qingfeng rather than continuing the Returning Truth Technique. Although he respected his elder brother's guidance, he increasingly wanted recognition independent of Lu Qingfeng's shadow. This led him to propose founding the Brothers Gang, with the ambition of building a force stronger than the Azure Jade Gate and War God Society 15 57.
Qingshan later joined the Sunset Glow Sect, where he gained notice as an underestimated disciple. He won the sect's Small Competition despite entering at only the Third Layer of the True Qi Stage, defeating opponents with far higher nominal cultivation and receiving the Seven Fiends Banner as his prize 105 110 111 112.
Following years of cultivation and travel, Qingshan married Xu Mi and became the father of Lu Changsheng and Lu Jing. He eventually obtained Pasture Wilds Sword Venerable's inheritance, including the Thirteen Forms of Po Gu Swordplay, and was invited to join the Floating Mountain Sect's sword lineage 431 433 504 583 585.
Appearance
As a child, Qingshan was a dark-skinned, simple-looking boy who resembled Lu Qingfeng and wore his hair long enough to conceal the whip scars on his face. His time in the Returning Truth Sect left him thin, injured, and initially timid 1.
As an adult cultivator, he became more mature and resolute, carrying a longsword and displaying the composed bearing of one tempered by travel, demon-slaying, and cultivation 106 259.
- White Sunset Glow Sect disciple uniform during the Small Competition 106
- Often carries a longsword 259
- Later wears black robes and a bamboo hat while traveling incognito 383
- Has been described as wearing a yellow robe while commanding the Yellow Robe Mountain Four Loose Immortals 307
Personality
Qingshan began as fearful and indecisive, but his suffering as a servant disciple hardened him. Even while injured, he concealed his pain from his siblings and tried to reassure Lu Qingfeng 1. He did not forget the abuse he endured, preserving a detailed ledger of the people who harmed him 14.
He craves recognition and dislikes being viewed only as Lu Qingfeng's younger brother. His wish to found the Brothers Gang and his determination to distinguish himself within the Sunset Glow Sect reflect both ambition and youthful vanity 57. At the same time, he is willing to heed Lu Qingfeng's advice when it concerns survival or long-term growth 15 306.
His independence does not diminish his devotion to family. When Qu Han targeted Xu Mi through her Heart Demon, Qingshan prioritized escaping with his wife and young son despite being outmatched. He later chose to ascend with Lu Qingfeng and Qingyu rather than remain behind in the Three Mountains Nine Rivers 431 432 664.
Abilities & Skills
Luofu Sword Canon and Luofu Sword Qi
Qingshan cultivates the Luofu Sword Canon, a profound sword cultivation method passed down through Lu Qingfeng. Its quality and his deep True Qi foundation allowed him to defeat higher-level Sunset Glow Sect disciples.
- Luofu Sword Qi can be mastered from the Fetal Respiration Realm, is controllable at will, and surpasses ordinary mid-tier spells in power 111.
- His sword qi broke defensive spells and defeated opponents from the Fourth, Seventh, and Ninth Layers of the True Qi Stage during the Small Competition 110.
- His cultivation method, artifacts, and spell arsenal made him comparable to an ordinary Spirit Void cultivator by the Origin Nurturing Stage 306.
Wind Riding Art
Lu Qingfeng strengthened Qingshan's Wind Riding Art from a low-grade to a mid-grade spell.
- Generates a fierce gale capable of cutting opponents with wind blades and disrupting their senses 110 111.
- Helped him sweep a Seventh-Layer True Qi Stage opponent from the competition platform 110.

- The formation can be broken by sufficiently powerful opponents; Qu Han shattered it with a single strike 432.
Cloud Peak Step
Qingshan practices the ordinary Divine Power version of Cloud Peak Step.
- Used it to attempt an escape while carrying his son and restraining his Heart Demon-afflicted wife 432.
- Its effectiveness was reduced because he had to protect both family members simultaneously 432.
Po Gu Swordplay
Qingshan inherited the sword legacy of Pasture Wilds Sword Venerable.
- Mastered the first twelve forms of the Thirteen Forms of Po Gu Swordplay 583.
- His attainment drew the Floating Mountain Sect's attention and led to an invitation to join Guangling Mountain's Shattering Antiquity Peak lineage 583 585 666.
