Angel

Amegakure was raining as always. Konan stood on a rooftop, looking up at the gray sky as memories of things that had happened on rainy days surfaced in her mind.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Obito's figure slowly appeared before Konan. Having returned to this familiar place, he turned his head and looked around.

Watching Obito's back, Konan asked coolly, "What are you looking for?"

"Ah..." Obito did not turn around. Somewhat puzzled, he asked, "Where did you take Nagato's body?"

"It is not here." Konan let the raindrops fall over her body. Then her body split into sheets of white paper, which automatically folded into butterflies in midair and flew beyond the village. Obito's body twisted, and he vanished from the spot as well.

The paper butterflies drifted to a chimney rising from the lake outside the village, where they assembled into Konan. Obito appeared shortly afterward on the broken end of a nearby chimney.

"The Rinnegan... It seems you have no intention of telling me where Nagato is." Obito looked at Konan and spoke calmly.

"I knew you would come for me. I have waited a long time, only to end your life," Konan said solemnly.

"I will not show mercy just because you were once my companion. Akatsuki will not forgive betrayal. You know that well." Obito looked at Konan in confusion. "Let me ask you something. Why would such outstanding members as you betray me? You and Nagato originally approved of my Moon Eye Plan. Uzumaki Naruto... If Nagato had been defeated by him, that would have been unavoidable. But Nagato... He died because he used the Reanimation Jutsu on Uzumaki Naruto, when it should have been used on me. Even Zetsu never figured out what changed Nagato's mind."
