Shui Bing'er was a Skywater Academy student and the daughter of Shui Wuyue, the academy's headmistress. She grew up alongside her younger sister, Shui Yue'er; the sisters are exceptionally close and can perform a Martial Soul Fusion Skill together. 45 51 55 136

While hunting for her third Soul Ring in the Land of the Extreme North with her teacher Sun Rui, Shui Bing'er and Sun Rui were surrounded by a flock of Snowy Sparrows. Though exhausted, she continued fighting with her Ice Phoenix Martial Soul until Xue Tianxing intervened. His Ice Phoenix resonated with hers as a power of the same origin. 44

When the Sparrow King overwhelmed Sun Rui, Shui Bing'er tried to remain behind and fight beside her teacher. Xue Tianxing attempted to remove her from danger, but their touching hands caused their Soul Powers to merge and awakened Frost Sky Phoenix Dance, their first Martial Soul Fusion Skill. The attack annihilated the sparrow flock and created an opportunity for Shui Bing'er to obtain her third Soul Ring. 45 46

Xue Tianxing later invited her to cultivate with him, as their compatible Ice Phoenix Soul Powers greatly improved both their cultivation efficiency and their fusion skill.
