Lugus rode a Speeder to the entrance of Eriadu's administrative center and underwent the Guardian's routine inspection. When the Guardian took his personal terminal and began scanning it, his heart pounded wildly and his breathing grew heavy.

The storage device Tosh had given him was wedged right into the middle of the personal terminal. At a glance, it was impossible to tell them apart. Even a scan would make the Guardian think it was merely one of the terminal's components—unless the Guardian was a specialist.

"Your terminal..." The Guardian suddenly picked up his personal terminal, his expression stern.

"I... this..." Lugus thought he had been exposed. He tensed up at once, his entire body stiffening as he stared at the terminal, unable to think of what to say.

But the Guardian merely pointed at a large stain on the terminal. "You'd better clean this off. If the sanitation inspectors find it, your department will lose credit points again. You know our governor cares most about these things. And drink less during work hours."

"Oh, ah... yes! Yes! I'll take care of it right away!" Lugus let out a breath of relief, hurriedly wiped at the stain, and carried his personal terminal inside.

The Guardian immediately snapped to attention and saluted. "Nothing unusual, General!"
