Feint East, Strike West
"What kind of warships are those? I've never seen them before!" Seeing the alien warships bursting out of hyperspace like a swarm of locusts, a Republic fleet staff officer cried out in alarm.
He did not even need to consult the database to know that these warships had never appeared in the Milky Way Galaxy's history of warfare!
All these warships had identical insect-like shapes, differing only in size. Yet their roles varied tremendously: cruisers dedicated to delivering firepower against large warships, Flak Frigates specializing in anti-air cover, and vast numbers of fighters.
The largest of these insect-like warships were over four hundred meters long, while the smallest were just over fifty meters. They possessed unbelievable agility and formidable firepower.
Dense plasma bolts poured onto the shields of the four Hunter Class Battlecruisers, causing their shield ratings to plummet. They also employed ultraviolet laser weapons on a large scale. Their tremendous power posed an extremely lethal threat to the Republic's already-launched fighters!
Even Sass Tiin sensed that something was wrong. He asked loudly, "Are the enemy ship scan results ready? Why is their firepower so fierce?"
A technical trooper immediately replied, "Scan complete! These warships' firepower rating is at least an order of magnitude greater than their size would suggest! Among warships of equivalent size, ours are vastly inferior!"
"Is it technological suppression?" Sass Tiin asked.
"I think..." The technical trooper fell into thought.
"It's not technological suppression." Another engineer beside him spoke up. "I have some data on the enemy ships. When they fired at full capacity, their internal temperature exceeded two hundred degrees. No known intelligent species could survive in such an environment. Therefore, they definitely aren't human. Only then could they save all the space used for life-support systems, living quarters, and food
