The Givin Join the War (2/5), Please Vote
The temporary calm on the battlefield did not mean that nothing was happening between the two sides. On the contrary, an even greater storm was steadily brewing.
On January 35, after a prolonged debate, Sheev Palpatine, Chancellor of the Galactic Senate, finally made the decision: in three days, they would vote on whether to dispatch an investigative team to Yag'Dhul, the Givin homeworld.
The Givin senator repeatedly objected, but this time Palpatine had made up his mind. The vote was officially held on February 3.
In the end, the Senate passed the resolution with 67% in favor, 22% against, 9% abstaining, and 2% invalid votes.
Palpatine announced that Bail Organa, Alderaan Senator, would lead a special delegation to Yag'Dhul to investigate the Givin's unauthorized construction of warships.
The Givin were required to cooperate with the investigation and explain the purpose of their warship construction, as well as the types, numbers, and sources of funding for the vessels already built.
At the same time, Galactic Republic Customs and the Commerce Department began investigating Yag'Dhul's previous logistics records.
However, the results were unexpected. All logistics records from the past ten years on Yag'Dhul had been deleted, leaving no data whatsoever.
This further intensified the Galactic Republic Senate's suspicions toward the Givin.
On February 5, the investigative delegation set out. But the Givin once again deployed Interdictors, sealing off traffic and refusing the delegation entry.
That afternoon, Bail Organa issued the Givin a stern ultimatum, demanding that they open their borders within one standard day and receive the investigative delegation.
The Givin never replied, but nearby Republic outposts detected that hyperspace traffic south of Yag'Dhul, in the direction of Kinyen near Gran territory, had become busy—more than five times the normal level.
