Life-Severing Meal

Holding a torch and riding the Crimson Deer Horse, Wang Zhifan traveled through the dark world like its brightest star.

He encountered many monsters and secret realms along the way, but he could not be bothered with most of them. He either smashed through them or passed them by, free to do as he pleased.

Now hundreds, perhaps thousands, of red-eyed skulls flew in from the surrounding wasteland. They stirred up a howling, chilling wind as they swarmed Wang Zhifan on horseback.

Wang Zhifan kept riding without reacting. One red-eyed skull after another struck the space around him, only to be shattered automatically by his powerful Bioforce Field. Their fragments left a trail of bone behind him.

Judging by the number of monsters and the strength of their attacks, this dungeon really is dangerous everywhere. There's almost nowhere safe to stop. But for me, their average combat strength is too low. They can't even break through my field. They're all show.

As he thought this, the Crimson Deer Horse stopped. Ahead, in the darkness lit by his torch, a quiet village stood abruptly amid the wasteland.

Wang Zhifan knew perfectly well that the village had not been there a moment ago. That meant another secret realm had appeared before him.

And it was indeed another one. He had encountered the same sort of thing so many times along the way that he had grown numb to it, even bored.

"Tsk... A village of a hundred or so households suddenly appears in this pitch-black wasteland, and it doesn't even look run-down. Could it be any more obvious that something's wrong? If you're going to conjure up a village, at least light some lamps and make it look lived-in. Are you worried I won't realize there's an Anomaly inside?"

Looking at the
