Background / History

Before his sealing, Veldora was feared as a destructive calamity. Centuries earlier, he destroyed Luminas's Night Rose Palace and left without facing meaningful consequences, as her attacks could not significantly harm a Dragon Species 460. He was eventually sealed by a powerful Hero, an event that left Rimuru doubtful that even Veldora could defeat that Hero after his release 629.

Despite his destructive reputation, Veldora protected monsters living in the Jura Great Forest and was regarded as its guardian deity. Rimuru and Morax recognized that his harmful actions were not born of malice, but also that he was lonely 7. The two befriended him, received the Tempest name and his blessing, and entered a Friend Equal Contract with him 7.

While confined within Rimuru's stomach space, Veldora's enormous reserves of Magic Essence supported Tempest's mass naming of monsters 57. Rimuru ultimately analyzed Infinite Prison and revived Veldora in a clone body, re-establishing their soul-corridor connection 339.

Veldora's release coincided with his grief over Morax's apparent death. He immediately vowed to help Rimuru avenge Morax against Guy 340 343.

Veldora can take the form of a burly blond man, but his true form is a giant blue-black dragon formed from overwhelming Magic Essence 339 341.

Beneath the arrogance, he is lonely, emotionally sincere toward his friends, and readily flustered by public gratitude. He considers Morax his soulmate and reacts to Morax's apparent death with open rage and grief 340 343.

His confidence collapses around his elder sisters, Velzard and Velgrend. Even after substantial training, their past discipline leaves him visibly fearful and prone to avoiding them 382 863 910.
