"Damn it, who caused this?" a Black Robed Man asked furiously.
"Perhaps the slaughter was too heavy, and the Resentful Energy caused it?" someone ventured.
"What a joke. We killed plenty in previous years too. Why was everything fine before, yet this happened now?"
"I often say the same thing to computer repairmen when my computer won't boot up."
The Black Robed Men were at their wits' end.
The facts were obvious. Whether someone was behind it or not, they had been thoroughly trapped on this island.
This island clearly could not sustain itself.
Food and drinking water were manageable, but the key was that there was not enough prey on the island. They needed to hunt outside regularly.
The livestock raised on the island could only be supplied to the elders nearby. Lowly people like them were not qualified to enjoy it.
And if they could not hunt regularly, the divine power in their bodies would fade away. This was not as simple as losing weight.
Losing weight could rebound and might even lead to the terrible consequence of death. If they stopped hunting, the consequences would be ten times worse. Their entire bodies would gradually transform toward monstrosity.
Their minds would lose control, their bodies would become deformed, and the fear and pain they had once inflicted on the livestock would now rebound upon them a hundredfold, a thousandfold.
They had seen one of their own, imprisoned by the elders over some matter and forbidden from hunting. No one wanted to experience that kind of misery themselves.
"What exactly are we supposed to do now? I want out. I want out right now!" A Black Robed Man suddenly flew into a rage. He even tore open his robe, revealing a filthy, disgusting body that looked as if it
