To care for the Haxorus that could not fly, Hydreigon had chosen a cave inside a small hill not far from the lakeside as the location for the nest holding the Pokémon Egg.

This spot lay at the border between Hydreigon and Haxorus's territories, making it convenient for the two Pokémon to travel back and forth while ensuring the Egg's safety. Whenever they acted together, the Pokémon under Hydreigon's protection would guard the Pokémon Egg.

Just like when they had brought Su Hao into the nest, a Tsareena had been assigned to guard the Pokémon Egg.

Hydreigon certainly looked ferocious, and most Hydreigon truly were cruel and violent, but the one before Su Hao was somewhat different.

Its heart was set on farming delicious Berries. As for the Grass-type Pokémon in its territory that had gathered of their own accord and pledged loyalty to it of their own accord, it simply turned a blind eye.

As long as they diligently grew Berries, Hydreigon did not mind protecting them in the perilous Viridian Forest.

Haxorus was somewhat different. It still retained the absolute territorial instincts of Dragon-type Pokémon and rejected outsiders entering its territory.

Of course, that mindset had been modified by Hydreigon. Now, it only rejected creatures other than Hydreigon itself and those protected by Hydreigon.

After all, Haxorus's territory contained many resources unavailable in Hydreigon's territory, so Hydreigon would occasionally send its subordinates there to gather them.

Hydreigon, Haxorus, and Tsareena—an unlikely combination that should not have been able to coexist peacefully, yet lived together for some reason. Such a strange sight could probably only be seen among Pokémon blessed with intelligence and wisdom.

After Tsareena gracefully took her leave, the comfortably arranged nest and the Pokémon Egg at its center came into view.
