Background
During an early evolution, Incineroar's Soothing Bell and blue scarf fused with its body. The bell became a Flame Bag, while the scarf became permanently attached and could no longer be removed. Its item slot was left empty, so Su Hao supplied it with Charcoal to enhance its Fire-type attacks. 21
Before attaining its final form, Incineroar trained alongside Carbink and developed a direct, high-pressure fighting style. It learned to pair Intimidate with Fake Out, using the opponent's flinch to set up Bulk Up or Nasty Plot, and later gained Flame Charge through independent training. 21 27
During Su Hao's challenge against Gym Leader Jie Wei, Incineroar defeated Azumarill despite the type disadvantage, then faced the Elite Level Late Stage Garganacl. Its refusal to retreat in close combat culminated in its evolution into Incineroar. 39 40
Determined to avoid falling behind Su Hao's exceptionally gifted teammates, Incineroar undertook Lightning and Current Body Tempering at Electric Grand Canyon. It learned Thunder Punch, used hostile Electric-type Pokémon as sparring partners, and broke through to the Professional Level after turning Electivire's Thunder into fuel for its own body. 136 191 193
It later received training and power from several legendary Pokémon. Galar Moltres provided the seed of Evil Aura, Kyurem taught Intertwined Power, Zeraora's magnetic field helped it develop Magnetic Field Manipulation, and Ho-Oh bestowed Sacred Fire's Blessing rather than Sacred Fire itself. 485 552 728 1353
Ten years after Su Hao disappeared through an Ultra Wormhole, Incineroar remained in Yang City as its Guardian Deity. It trained at its own dojo, handled Dark Element incidents, and waited for Su Hao and Diancie's return. 1595
Appearance
Incineroar is a muscular, bipedal tiger-like Pokémon with black-and-red fur and exceptionally long, powerful forelimbs. Its upper-body musculature is especially pronounced, and its broad paws are described as capable of knocking opponents unconscious with a slap. 40
- Red mane grows from both sides of its face.
- Its forehead markings form a scarlet, king-like character.
- It wears a blue scarf permanently fused into its body. 21 40
- Its former Flame Bag became an orange-red Flame Belt around its waist. 40
- When its fighting spirit rises, flames erupt around the Flame Belt and can exceed 2,000°C. 40
Personality
Incineroar is proud, combative, and loves provoking opponents. It frequently fights with a mocking grin, taunts enemies into poor decisions, and considers itself Su Hao's foremost physical combatant. Its arrogance often hides a deep insecurity over having less innate backing than teammates such as Diancie, Milotic, and the legendary Pokémon. 76 191 564
It is exceptionally hardworking. Rather than relying on divine inheritances, Incineroar repeatedly subjects itself to punishing body-tempering methods to stay relevant within Su Hao's team. Even while struggling to control Evil Aura and Intertwined Power, it remains anxious to improve rather than abandoning them. 192 552
Its determination becomes most evident when injured. It continued advancing through Psychic pressure and poison to reach Alakazam, then used Evil Aura at close range to secure victory before collapsing. 567
After becoming Yang City's Guardian Deity, Incineroar becomes noticeably more restrained and steady, though it still responds eagerly to challenges and provocation. 1595
Abilities & Skills
Intimidate and Fake Out
Incineroar's core opening combination is an instinctive use of Intimidate and Fake Out. It suppresses an opponent's strength, forces a flinch, and creates an immediate opening for offense or self-enhancement. 21 282
- Uses the flinch window to activate Bulk Up, Nasty Plot, or attack immediately. 21
- Can combine Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot to disrupt an opponent's setup and reduce physical power. 1055
- Its Taunt can provoke opponents into abandoning safer tactics, as demonstrated against Electabuzz and Electivire. 191 193
- The combination can be countered by abilities that reverse stat drops; Ogerpon became stronger after being affected by both Intimidate and Parting Shot. 798
- Beartic's Icy Wind was able to freeze the energy wave produced by its empowered opening combination. 1360
Current Body Tempering and Current Propulsion
Su Hao developed Current Body Tempering for Incineroar by using Life Energy to heal muscle damage caused by controlled electric currents. The process strengthened its body, taught it Thunder Punch, and eventually enabled Current Propulsion. 136 190 193
- Its first completed tempering focused on the right arm, allowing it to cleave Diancie's Ancient Power rocks apart with a single Shadow Strike. 190
- It can use electric current to stimulate its muscles for temporary gains in speed, jumping power, durability, and explosive strength. 224 226
- It can absorb and use some incoming electricity as tempering fuel, but it is not immune to Electric-type attacks, especially from stronger opponents. 192 856
- Excessive current stimulation damages its body and initially could only be maintained for a few minutes without Su Hao's healing. 226
- Current Propulsion, Perpetual Bulk Up, and its reinforced physique allow it to contend with opponents far above its normal level. 897
Evil Aura
Evil Aura is a technique cultivated from a seed granted by Galar Moltres, rather than an innate trait of Incineroar's species. It manifests as a black or purple-black aura that enhances its Dark-type power. 552 1056
- Constantly scorches the Mental Power of enemies within its range. 552
- Can threaten Psychic-type Pokémon, opponents dependent on Mental Power, and Mega Evolutions maintained through mental control. 552 1196
- Incineroar used it at close range to incapacitate Alakazam despite severe injuries. 567
- It was initially difficult to sustain; after roughly three minutes, Incineroar collapsed from exhaustion. 577
- Aura Break can forcibly destroy it, as demonstrated by Little Soft. 1042
- The Dread Plate Fragment later enhanced its depth and destructive effect against Mega Sceptile. 1197
Intertwined Power and Magnetic Field Manipulation
Kyurem taught Incineroar Intertwined Power, derived from Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt. Combined with Zeraora's magnetic-field expertise, it became the foundation for Magnetic Field Manipulation and its Lava Overload mode. 485 552 728
- Intertwined Power amplifies its move output and can merge flame and lightning into extreme physical force. 728 839
- Incineroar Blast Fist shattered A-Yi's Reflect barrier with one punch, but left Incineroar's muscles severely damaged. 728
- Magnetic Field Manipulation · Lava Overload lets it maintain greatly enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, and firepower. 1056 1196
- By the battle against Iron Hands, it could sustain roughly ten full-power attacks or approximately two and a half minutes of maximum output. 1056
- Using Lava Overload while badly injured retains a risk of self-destruction. 1197
Fire Techniques
Incineroar specializes in brutal close-range Fire-type attacks supported by its Flame Belt and heavily tempered body.
- Flare Blitz — A high-speed body charge used to overwhelm targets through raw force and flames. It defeated an Elite-level Golem and later destroyed Beartic after Crimson Lotus Mode activated. 37 1361
- Explosion Blaze — A Fire-type starter Ultimate Technique mastered after Xia Jie's training. Its explosive flames can suppress stronger opponents and offset incoming special attacks. 434 453
- Fire Blast — Used as large-scale area denial, including during its victory streak in Su Hao's internal tournament. 453
- Tiger King Fire Punch — A Fire-type counterattack used after stopping Electivire's Wild Charge. 284
- Flame Charge — Provides offensive mobility and speed enhancement; it was instrumental in its pre-Elite victory over Golem. 27 37
Sacred Fire's Blessing and Crimson Lotus Mode
Ho-Oh did not grant Incineroar Sacred Fire itself, but instead blessed it with enhanced vitality, Fire-type affinity, energy absorption, and self-healing. 1353
- When exhausted, the blessing may trigger a single pseudo-nirvana rebirth based on Incineroar's will, temporarily restoring it to peak condition. 1353
- The blessing allowed it to rapidly repair bodily damage while pushing Lava Overload close to its maximum output. 1360
- Its rebirth state develops into Crimson Lotus Mode, combining flame, electricity, and Evil Aura into a crimson lotus demon-god-like transformation. 1360 1361
- In Crimson Lotus Mode, it withstood and deflected Beartic's Absolute Zero before ending the battle with Flare Blitz. 1361
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Blue Scarf — Fused into Incineroar during evolution and cannot be removed. 21
- Charcoal — Its early held item, providing a 20% boost to Fire-type power. 21
- Incineroar Z — Its Z-Crystal changed into this form near Articuno's Secret Realm, enabling an exclusive Z-Move. 593
- Dread Plate Fragment — Enhances the power and depth of Evil Aura. 1056 1197
- Scratching board — A treasured keepsake from Su Hao used to calm itself when distressed or homesick. 1595
Relationships
- Su Hao — Trainer and closest partner. Their Aura Resonance allows them to coordinate precisely in battle, while Su Hao supports Incineroar's self-improvement without dismissing its pride. 39 194 552
- Diancie — Senior teammate, sparring partner, and benchmark for strength. Diancie tested its early Current Body Tempering and later defeated its Evil Aura-enhanced assault in a sparring match. 190 593
- Pikachu and Magnezone — Helped Incineroar learn Thunder Punch; Pikachu guided the process while Magnezone controlled the low-voltage current. 136
- Xia Jie and the older Incineroar — Mentors in Fire-type Ultimate Techniques. Xia Jie arranged for an older Incineroar to teach it Explosion Blaze and later intensified its training. 422 434
- Galar Moltres — Granted the seed used to cultivate Evil Aura and taught Incineroar its Dark-type techniques. 485 552
- Kyurem — Taught Intertwined Power derived from Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt. 485 488
- Zeraora — Partner in Magnetic Field Manipulation research; Zeraora's magnetic field catalyzed Incineroar Blast Fist, though it also caused severe recoil. 728
- Moltres — Later acts as a master-like trainer and healer, teaching Incineroar while warning that its early Blast Fist was dangerously unstable. 839
- Ogerpon — A powerful rival who humiliated Incineroar after countering its Intimidate-based tactics; Incineroar later becomes strong enough to defeat Hearth Mask Ogerpon in Lava Overload. 798 1426
- Ho-Oh — Benefactor connected to Incineroar's origin; grants Sacred Fire's Blessing rather than Sacred Fire. 1350 1353

Trivia
- Incineroar was born under Ho-Oh's watch, an origin Su Hao did not learn until much later. 1350
- Despite its intimidating appearance, it keeps a small scratching board and carefully avoids damaging it because it is the last one Su Hao left behind. 1595
- It is not naturally fast, but repeatedly compensates through electric stimulation and Magnetic Field Manipulation. 226 453
- Its self-confidence is easily shaken when teammates receive special recognition; it was visibly jealous when Zeraora was selected for a signature Z-Move. 874
