Background / History

Hao Ren began as an unremarkable young man living alone in his parents’ old house in a small northern city. Single, unemployed, and renting rooms for income, he aspired to earn a good salary, marry, and live without disgracing his family. His defining ambition was simply to be a good person. 3

His ordinary life began to change when Lily came to rent a room in his house. Soon afterward, Raven 12345 contacted him regarding the supernatural residents gathering around him, setting him on the path toward work beyond Earth. 4 29

By the time he reaches Kuiper Station, Hao Ren holds the position of an Imperial Examiner. The privileges attached to the role make him recognize that his authority carries corresponding responsibility. 143

Much later, Lia’s investigation reveals that Hao Ren was reborn on Earth following the God Slayer event. His past self and Lia appear to have shared an unknown purpose when he struck her with the god-slaying sword. 1758
