Red Eyes

She could see farther now.

It seemed following the frog had been the right choice, so Jiang You continued swimming in the frog's direction.

The surroundings remained dim. She could feel light shining down from above the water, but the black water blocked too much of it, leaving everything gloomy.

Jiang You's swimming direction never changed. She was clearly swimming downward, yet she could distinctly feel herself rising.

The world beneath this water was inverted!

Swimming upward meant sinking, while sinking downward was the only way to surface!

Jiang You sped up.

Tiny drifting creatures in the black current kept darting past her.

These creatures looked bizarre, but they were all very small: a five-headed shark the size of a thumb, a red octopus the size of a palm, a jellyfish-like creature whose tentacles were covered in coral, and a beautiful little fish that swam over and opened its mouth at Jiang You, revealing an empty skeleton inside...

Perhaps because they were so small, all these strange creatures seemed rather cute.

Jiang You suddenly remembered that the illusion Red Eyes had shown her last time had contained similarly bizarre creatures in its seawater.

So was this still that same illusion?

As Jiang You continued swimming downward and was almost about to touch the bottom, she suddenly felt the world spin. A large hand abruptly reached in and grabbed the tin frog that had been leading the way.

"Splash~"

Jiang You emerged from the water.

Before her stretched a vast black ocean, and right in front of her stood the only tree reaching into the sky.

There were no mountains, rivers, or lakes to be seen, nor any land at all. There was only a turbulent black sea—and that familiar-looking tree.

The tree resembled a banyan, but it had no leaves.
