"I am willing to dedicate myself to the noble cause of the people's public security, and strive tirelessly to fulfill my oath!"

After quite some time, Wang Yuechuan withdrew his gaze from the window and once again turned it toward the man who called himself No. 18.

No. 18 said calmly, "Looks like you already have an answer, right?"

Wang Yuechuan said, "I believe that no matter what the mission is—even if it requires sacrificing one's life—it must be voluntary. I don't care what the mission entails, but before all that, I am a police officer who has already sworn an oath. I also believe that my country would never harm innocent people for the sake of a mission."

No. 18 suddenly revealed a sinister smile and raised an eyebrow. "So your answer is to refuse?"

Wang Yuechuan merely glanced indifferently at the man before walking silently toward the door. He finally understood that he would do everything in his power to accomplish any arduous mission assigned by the organization.

But he was not a machine that only knew how to complete missions.

"My existence is a secret. No leaks are permitted." No. 18 turned around and looked at Wang Yuechuan's departing back. "Do you know what it means for you to leave like this?"
