"...A memorial service will be held at the Municipal Theater at seven-thirty tonight."
The taxi's radio broadcast something, but no one in the car seemed to be paying much attention. Big Cousin and Second Cousin had Caroline between them, while Lawyer Carol sat in the passenger seat.
Lawyer Carol had originally planned to take the bus there.
But Big Cousin had suggested taking a taxi, saying they could pay the fare at worst, so Lawyer Carol readily agreed.
"Caroline, you and your Second Cousin seem to have a pretty good relationship, huh?" The car was somewhat quiet, so Lawyer Carol tried to find something to talk about. He had noticed that Caroline and Second Cousin had been holding hands the whole time, though the fact that their hands were covered by their clothes seemed a little strange.
But who didn't have a few odd hobbies?
Second Cousin merely shot Lawyer Carol a cold look. The lawyer shrugged, and since he was bored, he simply put on his earphones and started playing on his phone.
Seeing this, Caroline lowered her head and whispered into her 'Second Cousin's' ear, "Could you unlock my handcuffs? It was easy for someone to notice them in the hospital, which could cause trouble."
'Second Cousin' only gave Caroline a familial smile before looking out the window, showing no intention of doing so.
Caroline slumped against the seat in dejection, growing increasingly uneasy. In fact, ever since leaving Boston's crude workshop, she had been trying to find a way to escape.
Everything she had done, including mentioning that she could pay for her life at the workshop, had merely been to buy time and look for a chance to escape.
She simply hadn't expected Big Cousin and Second Cousin to watch her so closely. They had never
