Mr. Orphi was very casual when he worked, and did not maintain his stern image all the time.
In fact, taking off his suit jacket, loosening his tie, and rolling up his sleeves in the office made him feel much more at ease.
At 7:40 p.m., Mr. Orphi still had not left his workplace after finishing the trial of the new surveillance equipment. He had chosen to work overtime.
There were still some unresolved issues from the afternoon's joint press conference with the Foreign Ministry. In addition, according to intelligence reports, a group of foreign agents had infiltrated the country, though their intentions were unknown.
"Sir, we accidentally caught several people!"
Suddenly, the secretary rushed into Mr. Orphi's office, looking extremely anxious. Mr. Orphi knew that something serious must have happened, and his expression immediately darkened. "Who did you catch?"
"People from the USA's Federal Bureau of Investigation. Two men and one woman!" the secretary answered solemnly.
"What happened?" Mr. Orphi immediately realized the seriousness of the matter.
"Sir, you asked me to thoroughly investigate the list of guests present on the day of the hostage incident. I compared the surveillance footage from the main entrance against the guest list one by one and discovered that several people didn't match. They were planning to take the 4 p.m. train out of here. Fortunately, our men arrived in time... but one of them got away during the pursuit."
"Did any of them say anything?" Mr. Orphi asked hurriedly.
The secretary shook his head. "They're tight-lipped and refuse to say anything. They only demanded to be treated according to humanitarian principles. I was thinking that perhaps we should use truth serum on them."
"Do it." Mr. Orphi was decisive. "Make the preparations. Get the information out of them as quickly as possible.
