"Never mind. I'm going back to the ward. It's almost time for the nurses' rounds."
"You should hurry back, too."
Dr. Feranchi had been standing by the railing in front of the open-air level for quite some time.
He looked at the city before him... Tall buildings stood everywhere. The city's development had progressed completely differently from what he remembered. Overall, it displayed a much higher level of development.
As far as he remembered, the area ahead should have been extremely barren.
"Discontinued for more than twenty years? Impossible... Impossible..." he muttered to himself, gradually sinking into a state of mental confusion.
He suddenly felt that the world had become so strange that he was completely overwhelmed by unease. Dr. Feranchi abruptly turned around and walked toward the ward he had come out of.
The middle-aged man sleeping in the ward should have been able to give him the answers he wanted... At a time like this, he shouldn't worry about the other man being a stranger.
Dr. Feranchi quickly found the ward he had been in and pushed the door open. However, he didn't see the sleeping man he had noticed after waking up.
He only saw a suit jacket lying beneath the sofa. If he remembered correctly, that jacket had been covering the man while he slept.
Dr. Feranchi slowly sat down. Acting on instinct, he picked up the cushion beside him and hugged it to his chest... It seemed to give him a tiny bit of security.
Yet deep in his subconscious, Dr. Feranchi always felt that he needed to accomplish something extremely important. What exactly it was, however, he had no clear recollection at all.
