Background / History

Su Qing awakened memories of a previous life more than a decade late and learned that, in the original game-like storyline, he was an “ancient sinner” destined to be sacrificed before the main plot truly began. The Realm Protectorate was to collapse amid political suspicion, his elder sister would be condemned for holding excessive military power, and Su Qing himself would become a scapegoat for the resulting chaos. Armed with knowledge of the plot, he resolves not to follow that route. 1

When Qin Lan Shan seeks help for the disgraced Duke of Tang, Su Qing immediately recognizes that her appeal could pull the Realm Protectorate into a political trap. He nevertheless accepts the opportunity on his own terms, securing Qin’s allegiance and using her alchemy to obtain a life-extending pill. 1 2 8 15

Su Qing presents the Returning Spring Pills to the Yan Emperor, gaining a seven-day appointment to investigate the Duke of Tang’s alleged collusion with foreign powers. This reverses the Realm Protectorate’s immediate political crisis and earns him the generals’ respect. 18 34

Appearance

Su Qing is a handsome young man with a gentle, jade-like appearance, often dressed in white robes. 1

  • Initially appeared frail and sickly to those around him. 6
  • His physique rapidly becomes slim but distinctly muscular, with visible abdominal muscles. 6
  • Maintains a calm, refined exterior even when confronting opponents or political threats. 2 18

Personality

Su Qing is calculating, self-assured, and highly unwilling to let others dictate his choices. He treats the original storyline as a death trap to be dismantled, using foreknowledge to identify political schemes, hidden identities, and advantageous opportunities before they fully unfold. 1 11 46

He is adept at manipulating appearances: he can present himself as weak or cooperative when it benefits him, then reveal force, leverage, or information at the decisive moment. His methods are often coercive and provocative, particularly toward those whose loyalty or potential he intends to secure. 14 17 28

Despite his self-serving methods, Su Qing consistently protects assets and allies he considers his responsibility. He refuses to abandon Qin Lan Shan during public accusations, promotes Jun Huang’s contributions to the Yan Emperor, and works to save Chen Chu Ci from the Heavenly Principles Sect’s control. 38 39 43 53

Abilities & Skills
