After asking for Ningzhi Ruoxue Essence Cream, Lu Manman curiously asked, "Wuyang Ge, has Five Watches ever tried developing cosmetics that replenish collagen?"

Lu Manman added, "My mom uses Ningzhi Ruoxue Essence Cream too. While it can whiten the skin and even make it feel supple and hydrated, it doesn't seem capable of making the skin feel full of collagen."

An Wuyang answered affirmatively, "Ningzhi Ruoxue Essence Cream indeed doesn't have that effect."

"It can't smooth out wrinkles, nor can it reverse the skin's actual age," An Wuyang added.

"As for cosmetics that replenish collagen..." An Wuyang paused briefly.

"If you want to replenish collagen through so-called [cosmetics], that's practically impossible!" An Wuyang's tone was serious and solemn.

Lu Manman hesitated. "Really?"

"But the advertisements for some international luxury cosmetics all say they have that effect," Lu Manman added.

Hearing Lu Manman imitate Xia Yuqing's catchphrase and use advertisements for international luxury cosmetics as an example, An Wuyang rubbed this silly little deer's head twice.

"International luxury cosmetics are mostly about brand value," An Wuyang bluntly remarked.

"From a technical standpoint, using skincare products containing collagen externally in an attempt to have the skin absorb it and thereby replenish collagen is simply impossible," An Wuyang gave the answer first.

"That's because the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, has an extremely strong protective barrier. Large collagen molecules simply cannot penetrate through to the dermis, where collagen is stored. The greatest effect of topical application is probably just moisturizing," An Wuyang explained in greater detail.

Lu Manman said in surprise, "Then aren't those cosmetics and skincare products that claim to replenish collagen deceiving people?"

"You can only say they offer a bit of psychological comfort!" An Wuyang answered.

"Then does taking collagen directly have any effect?" Lu Manman asked
