Background / History

Fire Glazed Saint Huo Li and his senior disciple brother recovered the sword from a ruin in the Sacred Land. The ruin nearly killed them, and the weapon appeared to be a useless broken sword; it did not display the name “Floating Immortal” at that time and recognized neither of them. It was eventually left unused at Thousand Bamboo Ridge. 597

Fang Chen discovered the sword and claimed it by cutting his finger. It absorbed his blood, liquefied into his palm, and became a hidden sword mark that he could summon or dismiss at will. Initially called the Heavenly Remnant Sword, it soon became the foundation of his cultivation despite his lack of spiritual roots: cutting objects with it supplied energy that strengthened his body. 2 23

Huo Li later confirmed the sword's origin after Fang Chen allowed him to inspect it. Huo Li's Saint Power was absorbed without producing any response, demonstrating that the weapon had not recognized him. In response, Huo Li gave Fang Chen a rusty ring found alongside the sword; the ring also recognized Fang Chen and became the Floating Immortal Ring. Appearance

The Floating Immortal Sword originally resembled a corroded, pitted broken blade. Its appearance gradually changes as it absorbs power and evolves, revealing increasingly complex rune, star, and chaotic patterns. 1754 2010 2655
