Background / History

Huahua was first encountered in the Tianluo Secret Realm as an unusually large black myna with a white head tuft. He immediately antagonized Chen Xiaofei by defecating on him, then retaliated with a spray of black-and-white fluid after Fang Chen injured him protecting Chen Xiaofei. He nonetheless began following Fang Chen and silently observed his battle against the riding zombie. 102 105

His body, memories, Natal Spirit Pearl, and cultivation are bound by numerous ancient seals. Breaking those seals returns lost memories, techniques, and power rather than allowing him to cultivate conventionally. Fang Chen believes Huahua is a survivor of the Ancient Heavenly Court era, while Huahua's recovered memories suggest that his former cultivation was at least Half-Immortal. 313 593 1419 2075

During Fang Chen's time at Tianyuan Academy, Little Crane imprisoned Huahua for more than a century in a gray, hazy space. Huahua emerged resentful and emotionally exhausted, but resumed travelling with Fang Chen afterward. 225

As Fang Chen became stronger, the two developed a mutually beneficial method of training: attacks from the Floating Immortal Sword strip sealed Dao patterns from Huahua, strengthening both Huahua and Fang Chen through the released energy. 663 953 1279

Huahua normally appears as a small black myna bird with a white tuft of feathers atop his head. His appearance gradually changes as seals break and his power returns. 102 313

Huahua is loud, proud, mischievous, and prone to bragging about his knowledge, drinking ability, and romantic expertise. He enjoys provoking others, particularly Chen Xiaofei, and often reacts angrily to being called a “bald bird.” 157 522 638

Despite his obnoxious behavior, he is deeply loyal to Fang Chen. Huahua considers Fang Chen his best friend, has no desire to leave him despite recovering great power, and worries when Fang Chen chooses dangerous confrontations. 1013 1279
