Afterward, Ivan shook his head and stopped wondering why Xiya had suddenly become so strange.
Then he glanced at the clock hanging above the television and asked Xiya, "It's just past one now, and the movie doesn't start until five, so..."
"Should we wait at my place for a while, or go out for a walk?"
"Let's wait at your place. Do I need to take off my shoes?"
Xiya had finally returned to normal. As she asked Ivan this, she prepared to take off her black knee-high boots.
"Yeah. I'll find you a pair of slippers."
Ivan walked to the shoe cabinet by the door, opened it, took out a spare pair of guest slippers, and placed them in front of Xiya's feet.

Ivan walked toward the bar and asked again, "Would you like something to drink?"
Xiya removed her boots, put on the slippers, and took off her white mink coat.
Underneath the mink coat, she wore a white turtleneck sweater that displayed her "impressive" breasts. She answered softly,
"Warm water is fine."
"All right."
Ivan took a crystal glass from the sterilizing cabinet beneath the bar, then picked up the thermos on the counter and poured in more than half a glass of warm water.
Then he walked over to Xiya, who was already sitting on the living-room sofa. Handing her the glass, he said, "Is there any program you want to watch? I'll find it for you."
As he spoke, Ivan picked up the remote control from the sofa.
"No need." Xiya took a sip of water, looked around, then raised her head toward Ivan and asked,
"Hmm? Where are Uncle and Auntie?"
"They're putting Arthur down for his nap. They probably won't wake up until at least three in the afternoon." Ivan
