The Battle Takes a Turn

The rapidly spinning Vibranium Shield howled toward the Chitauri's head. Its tremendous force sent the Chitauri crashing to the ground.

The shield's momentum hadn't diminished in the slightest. It merely changed trajectory slightly before hurtling toward Arthur's abdomen.

"Watch out!"

Seeing this, Captain America hurriedly shouted a warning, telling Arthur to dodge.

But what happened next left Captain America and Black Widow with no attention to spare for the battlefield.

The Vibranium Shield, which had still been rushing toward Arthur at incredible speed, was in Arthur's left hand in the blink of an eye.

He was so fast that even Captain America, who had reached the peak of human ability, couldn't track his movements.

However.

Arthur didn't care what Captain America and Black Widow thought. He looked at a Chitauri soldier that had just leaped behind Black Widow, then used [Brute Force] with his left hand to hurl the Vibranium Shield at it.

"Whoosh—~!"

"Slash!"

With a sharp tearing sound, the Vibranium Shield cleaved the Chitauri in two.

Then came another deafening "Boom~—!" The shield, still carrying all its force, stabbed straight into the overpass deck, sending shattered stones and rubble flying everywhere.

After throwing the Vibranium Shield, Arthur didn't forget to keep firing controlled bursts from the Gauss Rifle in his hand at the remaining Chitauri soldiers.

Carl followed closely behind Arthur without needing a reminder. Gripping her freshly reloaded Bolter Pistol in both hands, she and Arthur violently dispatched the Chitauri soldiers.

"Tat!"

"Puff!"

"Clang!"

"Squish!"

By then, the combination of Carl and Arthur had punched straight through the Chitauri soldiers' defensive line, conveniently eliminating every Chitauri soldier within sight as well.

In less than a minute, the overpass held nothing but Chitauri corpses and chunks of Chitauri remains.

Afterward, the two of them
