Hearing Arthur, William and his wife both froze for a moment, but they each set aside their phone and tablet.
William rose and walked to the door. When he opened it, he saw Arthur standing outside in a crisp military uniform.
Arthur had already attained the rank of lieutenant. The black collar of his uniform bore the insignia representing that rank.
Arthur also seemed to have grown a little taller. Like his father and older brother, he had combed his hair back, and much of the childishness had faded from his face. Even so, he still carried a hint of wild abandon.
He was seventeen now.
Before he knew it, Arthur had been in this world for nearly two years.
With Ivan in charge of the company in the Main Universe, no longer hindered by his older brother, and with William deliberately grooming him, Arthur had finally been able to pursue his ambitions without restraint.
Now, aside from Thor, the other veteran members of the Avengers had all willingly gone to work for Umbrella after Arthur's persuasion and various little maneuvers.
As for Thor, it wasn't that he was "hard to win over." Compared with Rogers, Banner, or Stark, Thor should have been the easiest to control.
He was powerful, but his intelligence was rather lacking.
The reason Thor had not yet been brought into Umbrella's service was that, ever since the Manhattan crisis had been resolved, he had not appeared on Earth again.
Arthur knew the reason for this.
In Thor 1, Thor and Loki's battle had caused the Bifrost to be destroyed. Asgard lost contact with the Nine Realms, which led to rebellions breaking out across them.
In Avengers 1, Thor had been able to return to Earth without the Bifrost because Odin had used Dark Matter
