Dao Master Luo nodded, still seated inside the Imperial Carriage. The carriage drove out of the hall to welcome Dao Master Tongtian.
Just then, killing intent swept over them, cleaving open the sky above Qionghua Island. Dao Master Tongtian entered with an expressionless face and said, "Brothers, have you sensed that the tribulation is about to arrive?"
Dao Master Lin and Dao Master Luo exchanged a glance, then laughed in unison. "We knew we couldn't hide it from you. Fellow Daoist, please!"
The three returned to Zhiren Hall. Dao Master Hua was still sitting there and had not risen. Dao Master Tongtian did not even bother looking at him and said, "With this tribulation descending, my Dao power has been strengthened, and I can clearly feel that the killing tribulation is approaching. That is why I have come to ask how we should respond."
Dao Master Lin smiled. "We were just discussing this. We all thought we should follow precedent: select one universe from the Great Thousand Universe, transfer the tribulation onto it, and have that universe undergo it in our place."
Dao Master Luo said, "Dao Master Hua suggested choosing someone clever and quick-witted, having him cultivate and master the tribulation. That way, we won't lose our heads when the next tribulation arrives. What do you think, Fellow Daoist Tongtian?"
Dao Master Tongtian said, "I dare not call it an opinion. I am merely a junior who happened to cultivate to the Dao Master realm. Naturally, I will follow your lead, Brother."
He had said "your," referring to only the two of them, pointedly leaving out Dao Master Hua.
