But at the time, he couldn't determine whether Yuko had fabricated a lie to muddy the waters and deliberately distract them.

Judging by Vice-Captain Kotetsu's instinctive reaction, he could now be almost one hundred percent certain that Retsu Unohana definitely had some connection with Yuko—at the very least, they had communicated.

After all, Kotetsu Isane had only become the Fourth Division's Vice-Captain after Yuko and the others left Soul Society. Before that, she had not been familiar with Yuko.

Almost everyone immediately understood the implication and turned toward Retsu Unohana, hoping she would explain.

Retsu Unohana smiled helplessly and turned to give Kotetsu Isane a slight nod.

"Go, Isane."

That idiot Yuko tricked me.

"Yes, Captain." Kotetsu Isane had not realized what was happening at all. After nodding, she left together with the other Vice-Captains.

Kyoraku Shunsui pushed up the brim of his hat, revealing a pair of calm eyes. "Then, can you tell us why you still haven't made your move?"

"Time should be precious to you."

Yuko watched Kotetsu Isane disappear into the distance before turning back with a smile. "I'm waiting."

"Waiting?"

"Yeah. Waiting for Aizen."

Kyoraku Shunsui's expression did not change. "What nonsense are you talking about? Captain Aizen was killed by you long ago, wasn't he?"

I'm supposed to cooperate with your performance, yet... I'm really working hard at it.

"Nope. Aizen's target is Rukia. His fake death was only to make us suffer mutual losses."

As she spoke, Yuko turned her gaze toward Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, whose face was stern. "It's just that this rotten old man's brain isn't very flexible. He only likes believing in what he sees."
