Rangiku Matsumoto rubbed her head. "I give up. I don't understand a word of this."

Toshiro folded his arms and gave her a cold smile. "Good thing I never put you in charge of the division's paperwork. Imagine the mess."

Rangiku showed no sign of feeling insulted. Instead, she beamed at her captain. "Then it's settled. You can handle all the paperwork, Captain~ I'd only slow you down anyway."

Toshiro grumbled, "You say that like you've done any of it!"

A breeze rose from the riverbed, sweeping a few dead leaves into the air.

Senna drew close to Yuko again. A trace of a smile remained in her violet eyes, but she could not hide the worry beneath it. Her voice trembled. "Hey, Teacher, you keep talking about a Memory Rosary. What does that mean? What do you mean, my memories aren't real and I don't exist?"

Ichigo reached out to take Senna by the shoulder, but his hand froze halfway there. He did not know what to do.

Yuko looked at the girl trying so hard to be brave. She and Urahara had made no attempt to hide their discussion of the Memory Rosary from them.

From the way Senna was acting now, she had probably begun to doubt her own existence... or at least feel uncertain about it.
