"But your suggestion isn't entirely unreasonable." Yuko rubbed her chin, looking thoughtfully at Senna. "If it really comes to that, we could give it a try."
"..."
"Something like the ten worst tortures. Make sure she can't forget the pain even as she's about to disappear."
Senna's mouth twitched. "I'd rather just disappear."
Rukia chimed in, "Teacher, this isn't the time to tease her!"
Ichigo covered his face. "You weren't nearly this gentle with me earlier."
Aunt and Rukia clearly thought he was an easy target.
After that complaint, Ichigo got back to the point. "So what exactly do we do?"
"What makes a memory deep enough? Memories aren't cabbages you can grow whenever you want."
"Even if we take her out and have fun, it might not leave much of an impression. That's a long way from the anchor you're talking about."
Ichigo himself could barely remember going to amusement parks with his parents when he was little.
Yuko shot him a sidelong glance, then looked at Senna, whose spirits had lifted slightly thanks to their help.
"Think of the anchor as a sense of belonging," Yuko said calmly, folding her arms. "She needs to feel, 'I'd rather die than go back there. No matter what happens, I don't want to leave everyone.'"
Yuko pulled a bank card from her pocket and tossed it to Ichigo.
Ichigo fumbled to catch it. "What's this?"
"My bank card. The PIN is XXX." Yuko raised an eyebrow. "If you don't know what to do, take her out for good food and fun."
"Go to an amusement park or a mall. Watch movies, play games. Whatever you do, make her fall in love with this world over these three days. Or..."
Yuko suddenly gave the two of them a rather peculiar look.
