Background / History

When the Three Pure Ones discovered that consciousness had arisen within the 24-Petal Creation Azure Lotus, Laozi recognized that Zhou Qingqing knew details of their destined spiritual treasures and possible future division. He maneuvered his brothers into bringing her back to Eastern Kunlun rather than allowing her to be split apart. Learning that their fortunes could be divided and their brotherhood driven to conflict, he regarded Qingqing as central to changing that outcome. 2 6

At Eastern Kunlun, Laozi helped establish Qingqing's lotus pond using the Heaven-and-Earth Mystic Yellow Exquisite Treasure Pagoda. He and his brothers later accepted her as their shared First Disciple of the Three Pure Ones. 6 7 9

His deductions repeatedly guided the group toward opportunities, including the Innate Gourd Vine on Mount Buzhou.
