The Girl in the Hospital Ward

They kept climbing the cramped, narrow staircase.

The oppressive feeling brought on by the Threshold Space was still intense. After climbing more than ten floors, both William and Catherine felt somewhat uneasy, as if their chests were weighed down by a breath they could not release.

But they gritted their teeth and continued upward. Even after climbing a full thirty floors, they still could not reach the rooftop.

"This is so damn frustrating!"

William could not help swearing. In his normal state, he could have quickly infiltrated the current staircase with his Mad Brain and found the problem. Now, however, he could do nothing.

"Hahaha~" Catherine covered her black lips and could not stop laughing. "So you have moments like this too, William~ Seeing you like this makes this nightmare trip completely worth it.

"If you can't get out of the staircase, what are you going to do?"

"This way."

William immediately retreated from the stairwell and returned to the original corridor.

By observing the similar hospital wards along the way and noticing the slightly opened iron door and the ward where the statue had been smashed, he confirmed that the two of them had never changed floors.

After spending more than ten minutes, the two of them had merely been walking in place.

"The staircase really is strange, but there's something else that doesn't make sense.

"Female Doctor clearly said she was activating 'Level Three Alert.' Logically speaking, surveillance in every area should have been tightened. Yet we walked around the stairwell for half an hour without anyone coming after us."

William had no choice but to look toward the other end of the corridor, at the only option currently available—the "elevator."

But a modern facility like an elevator was bound to be covered in surveillance cameras. Once the
