The super-sized leather shoes moved through the old, cramped stairwell. Each step could clear at least five stairs. Based on the combined clues gathered and inferred so far, they finally stopped outside a guest-room door.

Facing the Old-fashioned Door Lock, the detective directly inserted his little finger.

both detectives' arms were tucked inside their trench coats, making as if they were drawing their guns.

Yet the scene before them was completely different from what they had expected.

Two middle-aged men and women over forty, both stripped of their clothes, lay on the bed, using the bedding to cover themselves as much as possible. A small card had also been placed at the head of the bed.

Before the two detectives could speak, the woman immediately blurted out, "There was no exchange of money between us. We were just having a normal interaction between friends."

The man quickly put on his trousers, doing his best to conceal his embarrassed expression.

The two detectives rapidly scanned the room, their faces full of confusion.

"Did we miss a floor? That shouldn't be possible."

The detectives paid no attention to the two people who might have been conducting an illegal transaction. They turned and continued up the stairs toward the floor above.

But when they opened the guest-room door, they once again saw the exact same scene. A fallen woman who was putting on her underwear was startled into crying out when the detectives arrived again.

"Ah! Officers, just tell me what's going on..."

At that moment, the two detectives realized that something was wrong.

Instead of continuing up the stairs, they entered the guest room where the fallen woman was and climbed out the window, making their way to the next floor by scaling the building.
