God and the Sick

Late at night,

the train sped along the tracks, and in some ways, the sensation was similar to riding in a mechanical carriage.

William consequently had a dream.

He dreamed that he was riding in a mechanical carriage with Jin and Regan, preparing to carry out a mission in a town afflicted by disease. But on the way to their destination, a sudden, intense pain erupted in William's abdomen.

When he looked down, he found that his abdomen had swollen enormously.

At some point, Jin and Regan had changed into white coats and were standing beside him, preparing to "deliver the baby."

Jin wore her Seven-Colored Mask from back then. She reached out and stroked William's hair. "Take a deep breath~ With your body, you might give birth to a muscular baby. There's no need to worry at all."

Regan, meanwhile, had put on rubber gloves and was disinfecting a scalpel, apparently preparing for a cesarean section.

Just as Regan was about to make the incision, Jin shoved him aside. "There's no need for all that trouble. William's body is very strong! Why use a scalpel, something only a delicate woman would use? Why not just blast it open?"

With her palm pressed against William's abdomen, one red lotus after another injected something inside. The rapid proliferation of cells and the sharp rise in heat were clearly perceptible. Just as his belly was about to explode—

Buzz!

William awoke with a start, his back drenched in sweat. A faint, cramping pain twisted through his abdomen.

"There's a problem!"
