Originally, this should have been a European-style pastoral town, with sparse, low bungalows arranged in a way that suited visiting travelers.
But as the Gray Zone spread, the plague ran rampant.
Disease had seeped into every inch of land, every brick and tile, and every layer of wall paint. The town had undergone a fundamental transformation through disease. The once-low bungalows began growing like living things—not vertically, but in crooked, twisted shapes.
The various window structures looked more like organs such as mouths and eye sockets,
and even more bizarrely, the completely diseased houses seemed capable of "reproduction." They gave birth to similarly structured buildings around themselves, making the once-sparse town grow cramped. Spacious roads became passable only by squeezing sideways. In some places, people even had to climb walls, crawl through holes, or pass through the interiors of houses.
