Rain pattered down over a special city where divinity and science had been combined.
Various neon lights projected images of gods and Buddhas into the air, as if illuminating the darkness and future for the people, yet also as if supervising their every word and action.
Skyscrapers and temples,
factories and churches,
trains and shrines,
all sorts of elements that should never have been placed together were stacked and interwoven throughout the city like Lego bricks.
All kinds of individuals wandered through the streets. They had different appearances and even different genetic makeups, as if they came from different worlds.
However, aside from the living individuals, there were also some puppets mixed in among them.
Yet these puppets were not controlled by anyone. Whenever they walked down the street, the living individuals would actively make way, nod in greeting, and even press their entire bodies against the ground to show their respect. Some would go even further, arriving ahead of time at a set of steps and using their own bodies as stairs for the puppets.
These puppets seemed to possess extremely special identities.
At present,
inside an iron temple built atop a hundred-story skyscraper.
Metal hoses were spread throughout the temple. After being divided into separate lines, they connected to the humanoid puppets on various Buddha platforms.
Aside from their daily work, the skyscraper's employees were assigned each day to ride the elevators to the temple at the top and perform tasks such as worship, offering tributes, maintaining the power supply, and carrying out daily upkeep.
Boom!
A golden bolt of lightning struck down from the clouds and landed atop the temple. Electricity flowed through two of the hoses and poured into the corresponding humanoid puppets.
