History
Rise at Li Jing
The clan developed from Li Jing Village into the regional center of power. Land taxes from surrounding villages funded craftsmen, who rebuilt the village with bluestone roads, blue-brick residences, and a main road leading from the clan gate to the village entrance. 30
Li Tongya personally tested local children for spiritual aptitude and accepted Ye Chengfu's son into the main family after finding that he possessed a spirit aperture. The clan also placed affiliated households under close supervision to preserve control over lineage and cultivation resources. 24
As its population expanded, the clan's Small Branches and Sub-Branches reached roughly four thousand people. Li Mutian established the Clan Head Courtyard to monitor them, preventing the branch descendants from openly abusing their privileged status despite their frequent petty excesses. 127
Mountain Yue expansion
Mountain Yue first approached the Li Clan with offers of trade, tribute, and intermarriage, seeking protection while asking Li cultivators not to cross its borders. Li Tongya and Li Xuanxuan instead treated the weakened territory as a potential source of markets, influence, and resources. 109
The clan later crossed into Eastern Shan Yue under the banner of restoring a descendant of the former royal house. Li Yuanxiu led troops into Mulu Town, while Li Tongya directed the larger political settlement. 184
After defeating and reorganizing the Six Great Clans, the Li Clan secured Eastern Shan Yue's Spirit Fields, Spirit Objects, witchcraft artifacts, and tribute. Li Yuanxiu rejected a proposal to eliminate the Mountain Yue royal heir and establish direct Li administration; Li Tongya instead made the royal house a nominal vassal and practical puppet. 191
The clan later extended control into Northern Shan Yue. Li Zhouwei ordered the destruction of twenty-one local noble clans, recruited their followers into new manpower, and raised Di Li Youjie as a local collaborator. Northern Shan Yue subsequently fell under Li Clan and Eastern Shan Yue control, with Di Li Youjie named its lord. 504 511
Consolidation around Moon Gazing Lake
The Li Clan rebuilt Huaqian Mountain, improved the four towns and two mountains under its rule, and cultivated Yellow Jade Spirit Rice as a high-value crop. 148
Following the conflict with the Yu Family, the clan acquired Hua Zhong and Jade Courtyard Mountains, blocking the Ding Family's route into Moon Gazing Lake. 253 It later absorbed Huo Luo'e's lands, making the whole South Bank of Moon Gazing Lake bear the Li surname. 511
The clan also took responsibility for civilian works. During prolonged flooding, Li Chengliao personally inspected the bluestone embankments protecting nearby towns and supervised the cultivators assigned to their upkeep. 476
Later growth
By the time of its Purple Mansion Dharma Assembly, the Li Clan had become a major regional power whose White Qilin, Li Zhouwei, received formal deference from visiting cultivators and Xuan Yue Sect leadership. 697
The Xiao Family later ceded seventy-nine East Shore families to the clan. Li Zhouwei ordered the installation of guards, restrictions on blood essence and Rice Meat consumption, the opening of marketplaces, and a system through which affiliated families sent disciples for cultivation and service. 707
The Jade Court Guard became capable of rapid external deployment. Under Li Jiangqian, it departed Moon Gazing Lake aboard the Qu He Great Ship after news created an opening at Qun Yi Island. 1012
Governance and Law
Clan Head Courtyard
The Clan Head Courtyard stands at the foot of Li Jing Mountain. Originally the clan's large estate, it faces south and is flanked by two smaller courtyards; its stone-brick front court was built by Li Changhu, Li Tongya, Li Xiangping, and Li Chijing themselves. 171
The courtyard serves as the clan's central administrative and disciplinary institution. Its officers supervise towns, investigate cultivators, punish criminal conduct, and monitor conflicts among the branches. 171
Li Yuanxiu used internal rivalries among outside-surname cultivators to identify loyal, treacherous, capable, and unreliable figures before those disputes could threaten the clan. 171
Discipline
Li Yuanxiu publicly executed the operator of a gambling den and punished clan members involved in it, using the incident to reaffirm clan law amid pressure from both internal factions and neighboring families. 162
During a later purge, the Jade Court Guard executed more than a thousand people for violating military and clan law, stripped others of the Li name, and sent them into Mountain Yue. 348
The clan's rules are particularly strict toward its own branches. Li Xicheng's death left no surplus wealth because he had distributed his resources to impoverished cultivators, a reputation later preserved in Clan History. 530

- At one point, the clan held five mountains and more than twenty formations, with over a hundred if Spirit Field arrays were included. Li Jing Mountain alone had formations for three Spirit Fields, the Ancestral Hall, and the treasury. 354
- The clan possesses inheritances in formations, talismans, and pill refinement, though its formation specialists historically lagged behind Liu Changdie's expertise. 383
- Its recorded spell collection included twenty-seven ungraded spells, fifteen first-grade spells, seven second-grade spells, three third-grade spells, and a limited number of pupil and movement techniques. 587
- Li Jiangqian later prioritized the construction of a new grand formation; Li Suihuan estimated that it would require three to five years, or two years with greater resource investment. 1203
