Early years

Li Xuanxuan studied under Han Wenxu at Great Li Mountain, though he was already prone to distraction during lessons 35. After receiving a Talisman Seed from the Mirror Fragment, he entered the clan’s cultivation path 39.

He joined Li Qiuyang and Li Yesheng in discovering a formation on Meichi Mountain. He approached the discovery cautiously and observed Li Xiangping’s testing of it 53.

Young Clan Head

By the Shan Yue raid on Li Jing Town, Li Xuanxuan was serving as the Young Clan Head. He assessed the town’s losses, ordered Li Xiewen to recruit an army from men seeking to recover their children or avenge their families, and directed the reorganization of the clan’s forces 94.

He later helped maintain Li Jing Mountain while Li Xuanfeng secluded himself to seek a breakthrough. At the time, Li Xuanxuan had reached the fifth level of Fetal Breathing and shared the newly acquired Turbulent River Step inheritance with his brother 141.

Family head and succession

Li Xuanxuan raised his eldest son, Li Yuanxiu, for clan responsibilities, bringing him into family affairs after the boy reached the first level of Fetal Breathing 158. When Li Xuanxuan emerged from seclusion as a Qi Refining cultivator, he found that Yuanxiu had administered the family more effectively than he had expected 180.

Yuanxiu’s death devastated him. Li Xuanxuan mourned the loss of the child whom the elders had favored as successor, then named his newborn second son Li Yuanping and resolved to seek peace 203.

Li Xuanxuan suffered severe injuries during the Crown Cloud Peak Market disaster, leaving him burned, emaciated, and disfigured 347. His accumulated grief and guilt later developed into inner demons. Though initially reluctant, he accepted treatment at Heng Zhu Dao Gate, where Bi Chengyuan administered a Body Taming Pill and placed him in a formation chamber 411.

In old age, he continued drawing talismans, managed clan concerns, and sought advice on behalf of younger descendants 417 960. As his health failed, he rejected attempts to prolong his life and reflected on his place among the Li Clan’s more accomplished forebears 1411.

He was also alert to deception: at Crown Cloud Peak Market, he deliberately demanded an official contract for an overpriced pupil-technique transaction, exposing the buyer’s suspicious urgency 344.

His caution could become conservatism. When the troubled Yuan Family asked for Foundation Establishment assistance, he resisted involvement because he feared exposing the Li Family’s own prodigies to danger 495.
