Background / History

One-Ear entered the Demon Village instance with his roommate. During Greenie’s opening briefing, he spoke out of turn and was shot through the ear as an example to the other newcomers. His roommate immediately treated the injury, while One-Ear learned to suppress his fear and anger around Greenie. 1 2

When Greenie offered weapons in exchange for talent information, One-Ear accepted a loaned Hand Axe despite resenting him. He used his awakened talent, Woodchopper’s Strike, to split a zombie in half; shortly afterward, Cheng Tian saved him from another zombie and pushed the axe back into his hands, telling him to keep fighting. 3 4

He became one of Cheng Tian’s most dependable companions during the trial, fighting zombie hordes, watching Cheng’s blind spots, and assisting him when he restrained the Vampire Magician. 5 6 7 When Cheng chose to leave One-Ear’s injured roommate behind, One-Ear stayed with his friend and helped him reach the cemetery exit instead. 10 15

After witnessing Cheng defeat the Red Imp, One-Ear and his roommate began following Cheng for protection. He searched for supplies, joined the search for hidden Easter eggs, and supported Cheng’s group through the jungle and the battle against Cyclops. 17 21 22 25

Following the instance’s completion, One-Ear thanked Cheng Tian and received a returned white-grade weapon. He later ignored and blacklisted Greenie’s attempt to contact him, retaining a strong grudge over the shooting. 26 32

Personality

One-Ear is fearful but resilient. Even immediately after being shot, he restrains his anger long enough to obtain a weapon and secure a chance of survival. 3

He is direct in combat and quick to follow reliable leadership, placing substantial trust in Cheng Tian once Cheng saves him. 4 6 However, he is deeply loyal to his roommate, choosing to remain with him when Cheng continues ahead. 10 15

He does not forgive easily. Although he endured Greenie’s intimidation during the trial, he later blacklisted Greenie and resolves to tear off Greenie’s ears if given the opportunity. 32
