Lord of the Dark Night is celebrating its birthday!

It's already been a full year since I published the book.

I published it on August 8 last year, and today makes exactly one year.

Looking back on this past year, I can't help feeling that it went by too fast.

How has it already been a year? In one year, I went from not having written a single word to 3.52 million words. Excluding the time before it went on sale, I averaged basically ten thousand words a day.

That pace seems pretty decent, right?

Thinking back to when I typed out the words Ling Tian Legend in April 2009, it's been fifteen and a half years until now. Looking back, it truly feels like a great dream.

Fifteen years, and I've written thirty-six million words.

I'm absolutely brimming with a sense of accomplishment.

Let's talk about Lord of the Dark Night. I wasn't fully prepared when I started it. My hands had already been hurting since the year before last, and I couldn't write, so I hastily ended the previous book and underwent treatment for four consecutive months.

It wasn't until June that I was finally able to write again. I continued my treatment while considering what to write next.

Then I steeled my heart and made a willful decision: to write a willful book, a book that would satisfy me.
