Background / History

Zuo Si arrived in a magical world and spent his first month adapting to the Floating City Tower's brutal environment. Under his mentor Astar's earlier training, he had already been forced to dissect corpses and living people, endure lethal trials, and abandon much of his former morality; these experiences shaped his utilitarian, survival-focused outlook. His Spark awakened during this period, making him a Planeswalker. 2 180

During a plague in the floating city, Zuo Si discovered that he himself was the source of the outbreak when ill. He bound the Floating City Tower Land Card to his Creator profession to replenish Mana and began using cards as a practical means of survival. 4

After reaching Caledon, he developed his spellcasting, card collection, magical-item crafting, and commercial network. He defended himself from assassins, built ties with merchants such as Bernard and Aisha, and increasingly used his knowledge, wealth, and creations to secure influence. 61 62 85 87

Zuo Si later became Talona's Chosen and gained Cleric power, then received Silver Fire from Midnight. His growing strength allowed him to defeat his former mentor Astar, destroy Astar's phylactery, and seize the archlich's research and possessions. 171 175 180 241 249

His ambitions expanded beyond personal advancement. He activated a Mage Tower in Athkatla, established a permanent portal to the Dragon's Lair, built organizations and armies, entered alliances with rulers and gods, and repeatedly traveled between worlds through his Spark. 184 309 415

Zuo Si's usual form is human, originally depicted as a black-haired, black-eyed boy and later as a young man. His appearance is highly mutable through magic, divine power, and racial transformations. 20 380 593

Zuo Si is intensely pragmatic, curious, and driven by the acquisition of knowledge. He regards spells as records of their creators' understanding of magic, making him willing to spend enormous sums, compromise politically, or take risks to obtain books, scrolls, and magical research. 188 212

His upbringing under Astar made him calculating and capable of extreme ruthlessness. He favors preparation, information advantages, preemptive action, and overwhelming force over fair confrontations. Despite his cruelty, he can be patient with people he accepts as his own, including Isadora, Bernard, his followers, and companions.
