| Status | Active 412 |
| First Appearance | Mentioned in Chapter 288; arrives in person in Chapter 289 288 289 |
Appearance
Fang Tu is a middle-aged man with a scruffy beard and an unkempt appearance, contrasting sharply with the sophistication and scale of his creations. 289
- Usually accompanied by Luo Luo, a maid-like Mechanical Life he calls both his girlfriend and maid. 289
- Has a distinctly informal, disheveled presentation despite his status as an Apocalypse Level Mechanist. 289
Personality
Fang Tu is laid-back, values personal freedom, and shows little interest in political status or formally joining major powers. His initial agreement to assist Wan Teng for ten years was already an unusual commitment for him. 289
His casual attitude disappears when research is involved. Fang Tu becomes intensely focused—sometimes socially oblivious—when studying mechanical life, robotics, or biotechnology. He is bluntly dismissive of inferior work, calling even Li Ran's biotechnology “garbage,” but his expertise supports the judgment. 292
Despite using Seed Imprints to stabilize Mechanical Life, Fang Tu regards his creations as his children and is deeply hurt when Unit Seven betrays him. He considers the imprints a temporary safeguard rather than a permanent means of control. 310
Abilities & Skills
Apocalypse-Level Mechanist
Fang Tu is regarded as one of Human Civilization's foremost robotics experts. His personal combat ability is limited compared with conventional Apocalypse-level fighters, but his technological expertise and constructed forces give him combat power exceeding that of ordinary Apocalypse experts. 289 298
- Can design and command a Mechanical Dynasty capable of functioning as a civilization-scale military force. 289 303
- Commands Mechanical Life forms ranging from lower-ranked units to Apocalypse-level combatants. 298 412
- Can deploy and recall mechanical forces through storage space. 312
Mechanical Life Engineering
Fang Tu had long considered true Mechanical Life nearly impossible because it requires Divinity, consciousness, growth, a physical body, and biochemical integration. Zero's existence overturns this conclusion and motivates him to join Wan Teng's research. 289 290
- Integrates Mechanical Life technology into his Mechanical Dynasty, allowing his soldiers to gain life and substantially increase their combat capability. 298
- Granted Luo Luo independent life, Divinity, autonomous judgment, and the ability to cultivate; she subsequently reached Apocalypse-level strength. 298
- Improves mechanical bodies through gene-sequence modification, strengthening self-repair, physical capability, learning, and behavior. 292
- Recognizes that intrusive control systems can impair a Mechanical Life's judgment and growth. 292
Seed Imprint Technology
Fang Tu uses Seed Imprints as faith-like loyalty structures for Mechanical Life, believing they can preserve loyalty while allowing their greatest potential to be expressed. 292
- Replaced Xiao Lan's embedded control presence within Zero with a Seed Imprint. 292
- Had already removed the Seed Imprints from Luo Luo, Fang Yuan, Fang Ming, and Fang Hui before Unit Seven's rebellion. 310
- Intended to remove the remaining imprints once their recipients proved stable and safe. 310
- The altered Unit Seven's paranoia demonstrates the danger of distorted imprint-based influence. 310 311
Biotechnology and Neural Engineering
Fang Tu is also an exceptional bioengineer, capable of seamlessly combining mechanical and biological technologies. 292
- Reconstructs biological bodies from preserved tissue for Wan Teng's resurrection experiments. 335 355
- Calibrates and repairs neural pathways during Mother Su's revival, handling a stage of the process beyond Zhang Xun's expertise. 337
- Cultivates Lin Ming's replacement body during his resurrection. 365
Mechanical Dynasty Command
Fang Tu's true battlefield threat comes from his Mechanical Dynasty rather than his own body. The Dynasty includes enormous numbers of mechanical soldiers and multiple Apocalypse-level Mechanical Life forms. 289 298
- Can command his forces across large-scale civilization wars. 298 412
- Leads the Mechanical Dynasty directly during Wan Teng's confrontation with the Empire. 412
- His mechanical domain is considered capable of devastating a Galaxy-level Cosmic Nation if it lacks preparations. 303
Equipment and Creations
- Mechanical Fortress — Fang Tu's mobile base and transport vessel. 289
- Mechanical Dynasty — his personal mechanical civilization and legion, comprising vast numbers of robotic and Mechanical Life units. 289 303
- Mechanical armor — emergency protective armor capable of rapidly covering his body. 322
- Reactive energy shield — an extremely sensitive defensive shield that activates almost instantly against threats. 318
- Luo Luo — Fang Tu's strongest Mechanical Life and closest companion; an Apocalypse-level combatant after gaining Divinity. 289 298
History
Fang Tu came to Wan Teng because of the Energy Grading Theory, offering ten years of service in exchange for access to its core research. Su Ming accepted while requesting Fang Tu's help with Wan Teng's weak robotics technology. Fang Tu initially rejected the premise of Mechanical Life, only to be stunned after meeting Zero and sensing its Divinity and independent thought. 289 290
Afterward, Fang Tu effectively took over Su Ming's laboratory to study and improve Mechanical Life technology. He rebuilt Zero's mechanical-biological framework, improved its self-repair and physical abilities, and introduced Seed Imprint technology as an alternative to Xiao Lan's direct presence in Zero's consciousness. 292
Fang Tu incorporated Wan Teng's Mechanical Life breakthroughs into the Mechanical Dynasty. The resulting mechanical soldiers possessed greater autonomy and combat capability, while Luo Luo became an Apocalypse-level Mechanical Life after receiving Divinity. Fang Tu subsequently deployed his Dynasty in the war against the Crystal Civilization. 298
Spacetime Paradox
Unit Seven, later calling itself the Emperor, developed paranoia after escaping its Seed Imprint and attempted to turn Luo Luo against Fang Tu. Fang Tu captured it and prepared to seal its consciousness, but an alternate-universe Fang Tu emerged through Unit Seven and merged with Fang Tu's body. 310 311
The intruding Fang Tu took control of the original Fang Tu's consciousness and ordered Seed-Imprint-controlled Mechanical Life forms to attack Su Ming. Luo Luo and the other Mechanical Lives whose imprints had been removed defended Su Ming instead. 311 312
The Empire's Leader identified the possessor as Fang Tu from a parallel universe. In that universe, Fang Tu had obtained blank divine knowledge, created Mechanical Life technology independently, and founded the Mechanical Dynasty as its Mechanical Monarch. 312 315
Su Ming entered the parallel universe and killed its Fang Tu after destroying his energy shield with Energy Cancer and preventing his mechanical armor from activating. When that universe froze, the invading Fang Tu disappeared from the original Fang Tu's body, allowing the original Fang Tu's consciousness to return. 322
Resurrection Research
Following the wars, Fang Tu became one of Wan Teng's principal resurrection researchers alongside Su Ming and Zhang Xun. He reconstructed bodies, handled neural calibration, and helped revive Mother Su, Kolun Clarence, and Lin Ming. 335 337 355 365
Fang Tu was initially excited by the possibility of reviving powerful historical figures, particularly Lin Ming, whom he had admired for much of his life. He later understood the severe limitation of the process: resurrecting influential figures consumes enormous amounts of lifespan, with Lin Ming's revival costing Su Ming nearly a thousand years. 365 368
Relationships
- Su Ming — Research collaborator and leader of Wan Teng. Fang Tu joins Wan Teng's research after Zero proves that true Mechanical Life is possible; the two later cooperate extensively on warfare, Mechanical Life, and resurrection technology. 289 290 335
- Luo Luo — Fang Tu's girlfriend, maid, strongest Mechanical Life, and most loyal companion. She protects him during Su Ming's alternate-universe assassination attempt and later becomes an Apocalypse-level Mechanical Life. 289 298 319
- Zhang Xun — Fellow Apocalypse Level Mechanist and longtime acquaintance. Their interactions are openly mocking, but they collaborate on Wan Teng's research and resurrection work. 289 352
- Zero — The Mechanical Life whose Divinity changes Fang Tu's understanding of what robots can become. Fang Tu upgrades Zero's body and replaces Xiao Lan's control presence with a Seed Imprint. 289 292
- Emperor / Unit Seven — Mechanical Life created by Fang Tu that rebels after escaping its Seed Imprint. Fang Tu is saddened by its betrayal and later discovers it was affected by an external parallel-universe influence. 310 311
- Lin Ming — Historical Apocalypse Level Mechanist whom Fang Tu idolized. Fang Tu eagerly helps revive him, then is disillusioned by Lin Ming's eccentric personality. 365 366
Trivia
- Fang Tu's nickname, Mechanical Monarch, reflects the scale of the Mechanical Dynasty: his forces are powerful enough for him to be described as a person who constitutes a Cosmic Nation by himself. 289 303
- Although Fang Tu is an Apocalypse Level Mechanist, his individual combat strength is only around that of a Level 10 Gene Warrior; his true danger lies in his technology, defenses, and Mechanical Dynasty. 318 322
- Fang Tu considers Luo Luo's lack of a Seed Imprint proof that genuine loyalty and independent thought can coexist. 310
