Tathagata: Laojun, It Must Have Been You

On Flower-Fruit Mountain, Tathagata looked at the reinforcement aura on the Sky Mending Stone. He was so furious that one Buddha ascended from the world and another Buddha rose to heaven, and he was just about to start cursing. "Laojun, Kong Xuan, you two..." Before he could finish, he held it back and thought, I'm Buddha Ancestor. I don't curse people, I don't curse people... Laojun and Kong Xuan are both far too powerful. I can't beat them. No, wait—what the hell is this Heaven and Earth Duality?

Suddenly, Tathagata sensed the Heaven and Earth Duality again and was utterly bewildered. Could it be that it wasn't only Laojun and Kong Xuan, but also the Jade Emperor and Zhenyuanzi? Hmm, they should be the ones causing trouble for Buddhism. Surely it couldn't be the Heavenly Dao and Houtu who made a move? If the Heavenly Dao and Houtu joined forces to stop this monkey from being born, then the Journey to the West is as good as canceled. Whoever wants to be Buddha Ancestor can do it. I'm done.

With that thought, Tathagata decided to return to Spirit Mountain's Peacock Temple and have a talk with the Peacock King, asking why he was causing trouble for Buddhism. He then went straight to the Peacock Temple and asked coldly, "Kong Xuan, why are you disrupting Buddhism's great undertaking?"

Kong Xuan stared at Tathagata in utter confusion. "Stop slapping labels on me. When have I ever disrupted Buddhism's great undertaking? Don't tell me you think that becoming Buddha Ancestor means you can beat me now? Today, I'll make this clear to you: I didn't do it. If you don't believe me, shall we go beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens and have a fight?"

Tathagata found Kong Xuan's words rather hard to swallow and
