Ao Yue was the Dragon Race's Great First Prince by the time of Ao Lie's wedding preparations. He took responsibility for the Dragon Race's dowry and opposed arrangements that would reduce Ao Lie to a mount, while also noting that his father, the Ancestral Dragon, had a remnant soul reincarnated as the Human Emperor. 358

He surrendered to Xuan Mo and swore himself into the Heavenly Demon Hall as its Guardian True Dragon. Rather than remain a passive recruit, he immediately proposed raiding the dojos of powerful cultivators, especially Xuandu's, to obtain spiritual resources and settle a personal grudge. 558
