A ragged spaceship, lacking any ability to hide the massive amount of damage on its outer armor even with deliberate camouflage, looked as though it had been cobbled together from two entirely different vessels spliced front and back.

Accompanied by a flashing burst of blue light signaling the completion of a jump, it appeared in a dead-silent expanse of space.

Inside the ship's control room, amidst an environment that still looked somewhat aged despite careful maintenance, a group of people surrounded a three-dimensional projection, watching the source of the distress signal with excitement.
