Seeing those angry faces on the surveillance feed, the vice president of the Stark Merchant Guild let out a cold snort.

"Just as I thought. They're exactly like those natives. They got some kind of opportunity, did they?"

"Lock them up first. Don't let them disturb our distinguished guests."

Everything now centered on receiving the distinguished guests. All other matters had to be put off...

Although the several metal rooms in Transit City were fairly decent, the tightly shut doors and the two guards standing on either side inside each room represented the treatment of being placed under house arrest.

As an envoy, John Johnny felt an intense fury welling up from the depths of his heart.

He had come bearing goodwill. He had not even criticized them for colonizing Earth, and had shown both courtesy and sincerity in negotiations.

But what had he gotten in return?

They had actually placed him under house arrest without even saying a word?!

Although there was indeed still a gap between their civilizations, a Fifth-Tier Civilization was no longer something that could be casually toyed with.

What benefit could they gain by inexplicably humiliating them like this?

"Could the two of you please report this to your superiors again? I will remember this favor."

But now that he had been confined, John had no choice but to plead with the two guards.

The two guards, however, did not display an overly arrogant attitude. Indeed, compared with the merchant guild, a Fifth-Tier Civilization was nothing special.

Still, he was at least an envoy from a Fifth-Tier Civilization. His status was not something guards like them could compare with.

While working for the Stark Merchant Guild, the first thing they had to learn was whether something was worth the cost.
