[Fate] and [Causality]'s [Weight]

So-called prophecy and divination.

Though they looked rather mystical.

As if one need only stir a thought slightly to easily learn whatever one wished to know.

In truth.

That sort of situation belonged only to extremely rare special cases.

In the vast majority of cases.

Prophecy and divination were actually rather troublesome matters.

Especially when the target possessed corresponding [Weight] on the [Fate] and [Causality] levels.

As everyone knew.

Any person, any event, or indeed any tangible or intangible thing in the world would bring all manner of influence to the rest of the world.

And the aforementioned [Weight] referred precisely to those influences. Generally speaking, the stronger something was or the more extensively it was entangled, the greater the influence it carried.

Although those influences normally served no purpose.

When other beings attempted to prophesy or divine them.

Those intangible influences would immediately turn into intangible barriers that could not be ignored, or perhaps powerful sources of interference that were difficult to overlook, disrupting all those who sought to peer into the target.

Therefore, when facing that [Weight] gathered from all sorts of influences.

When conducting prophecy and divination, people often needed to first use their own [Weight] as a lever, doing everything possible to pry at the target's [Weight] and forcibly create the opening they needed in the other party.

Only then.

Could they successfully glimpse information about the target.

In essence, prophecy and divination were somewhat like comparing sizes.

The greater the influence one possessed on the [Fate] and [Causality] levels, the more easily one could break through the target's various interferences.

Big fish ate little fish; the winner took all!

When the strong prophesied or divined the weak, they possessed an innate and overwhelming advantage.
