At Hans's request, Li Gou Dan was wearing a black mask and hiding in a corner of the crowd, listening to the leaders expound their opinions.

Most of the people below were followers of the leaders above. There were also a few independent forces mixed in, of course. Everyone consciously kept their distance from one another to avoid being attacked by an Evil Spirit hidden in the crowd.

Hans had told her that most of them wore masks because eating all sorts of bizarre things had disfigured their faces, or because weapon corrosion had made it inconvenient for them to show their faces. Since this was common, her mask did not seem out of place.

The reason Hans had made Li Gou Dan wear a mask was to avoid trouble. Women were a scarce resource here, especially beautiful women like Li Gou Dan.
