Amid all those topics, a forum in C City that had once been frequented by programmers had taken on a life of its own, filling with a crowd of software engineers lamenting the twists of fate.

Same here. My former boss calls me every day too. Back then, he refused to give me even a five-hundred-yuan raise, and threatened to blacklist me from the entire company forever if I changed jobs. He scared me so badly I almost gave in. Damn, good thing I was stubborn!
